The eternal arguement that everyone seem to worry themselves with .. is fate! So .. if there is fate and everything is written down by God ... then how do we have a choice in what we do? It doesn't matter how much we think and decide .. everything is written down .. and THAT is what "controls" us ..... well you know what ... that statement is FALSE!!
I believe that I have a choice in what I do .. and I believe in fate ... and for years I have struggled to find an explanaiton for this belief! Everything in Islam has a logical reason (this is another topic for later) until I heard thiss CD that I have. It is for an Islamic scholar ... Mohamed Al Sha'rawi .. and he is very well known amongst the arabic speakers for his insight in the Quran and his attempts to touch the essence of this miraculous holy book. Anyways ,,, this amazing scholar (may his soul rest in peace) had explained this phenomenon in the most simplest of words ....
He said that God Almighty is our Creator and He knows us well, what we are .. how we think, what we want, what we would do ..... so on the basis of that He has written our fate in our respective books ... For example, if I had a son, and I plan to give him 10 guineas, and before I give it to him I write down in a book that I will give my son 10 guineas and he will immediately go out and buy a red bicycle; and then I go and give him the 10 guineas and he immediately runs out and buys a red bicycle, just like I wrote he will. Did I tell him what to do with the 10 guineas? No! But because he is my son and I know what he wants and how he thinks. This is the same with Allah and us.
If we had no choice in our life .. then would all our lives be similar? wouldnt we all be following the same religion? the same language? the same cultures and heritage? Then there wouldnt be a heaven and hell .. or rewards and punishment!! We wouldnt be worried of Good and Bad ... Its not logical "not" to have a choice .. its a mandatory tool that we must have practiced to have reached to where we are in our civilizations!
Until another article ...... Asalamu Aliaikum (peace be on you) :0)
